T5 Transmission Install Flywheel

With the transmission, bellhousing, and clutch assembly removed, the state of the flywheel can be examined. A few hot spots can be seen on the mating surface but what can’t be seen by the naked eye is why it’s necessary to have the flywheel ground when installing a new clutch. Fractures and warpage of the flywheel can cause all kinds of clutch problems, premature wear and failure. View Related Article
