Customizing A Classic Truck Hinges

The hinges for the tonneau cover were cut from 5/16-inch plate. Located at the top of the hinge is a 3/8-inch steel rod that acts as the pivot point for the cover. The tubular insert that I was able to locate in the hardware aisle of Lowe’s, inserts between the 1/2-inch square tube of the cover and the 3/8-inch rod as a bushing for smooth operation.
