New Port Engineering Wiper Motor Install - Wipe Out! - Tech

 To seal the opening where...  To seal the opening where the wiper motor shaft protrudes through the body, apply a bead of silicone caulking to the flat disc of the wiper motor, install the gasket, and then apply another bead of caulk.  Then, install the New Port...  Then, install the New Port Engineering wiper motor into the original mounting bracket and secure it in place with the new mounting hardware provided. The gasket applied in the previous step should seal the opening in the cowl.  Seat the wiper linkage arm...  Seat the wiper linkage arm over the wiper motor shaft fully (there are flats on the shaft that must be aligned with flats in the linkage).  Secure the linkage arm to...  Secure the linkage arm to the shaft by installing the provided lock nut and tightening it until it is snug. The nut being too tight will prevent the linkage arm from moving, while being too loose will allow the wiper motor to turn without moving the linkage.  Mount the switch in the dash,...  Mount the switch in the dash, secure with the provided bezel nut, and then install the knob. Note that if the stock dash panel is being used, a shaft extension (available from New Port Engineering) will be required. Reinstall the knob and tighten in place with the set screw. Connect the power wire to the accessory circuit breaker or to the wiper motor circuit as appropriate for your truck. Connect the ground wire to a suitable ground on the negative side of the battery.  Choose a suitable location...  Choose a suitable location for the windshield washer fluid pump, drill two holes to mount the pump mounting bracket, and then slide the pump into place. Connect the power wire and the ground wire to their respective terminals on the pump and to the appropriate wires at the wiper switch.  Reconnect the battery, reinstall...  Reconnect the battery, reinstall the wiper arms and blades, spray some washer fluid on the windshield, and then run the motor on low speed. Verify that there is no binding of the linkage arms. Don't forget to reinstall the fresh-air grille (aka cowl panel).  Connect the washer fluid supply...  Connect the washer fluid supply hose from the reservoir to the inlet side of the pump. Then, connect the smaller hose to the outlet side of the pump and route it to the supplied "T" fitting, and then onward to each windshield spray nozzle.
