The bag doesn't take any sort of special sand. The ordinary stuff will do the trick. I picked up a 25-pound bag at Ace Hardware for roughly $3. The sand does need to be dry for proper use. To dry mine, I dumped it in a box and let it sit for few days, stirring it sporadically. View Related Article
