Hose 'em Down
Anyone who has worked with braided-steel hose lines knows how frustrating installing hose ends can be. Sure, braided hoses may look great when fitted to your engine, but fighting with even slightly frayed braided-steel hoses can cause you to wish for simple neoprene hoses instead. To the rescue are the new Powerhouse Products braided hose and fitting assembly toolkits, which quickly and neatly install hose ends without any of the hassle. Two kits are available, each designed to work with three different hose sizes: small (-4, -6, and -8 AN) and large (-10, -12, and -16 AN). To use the Powerhouse Products braided hose and fitting assembly toolkit, the tool is first separated into its two halves, lubricated, then fitted with the appropriate-size hose end. Mount the tool in a vise to keep it steady, feed the end of the braided-steel hose into the opening in the tool, and twist it until it stops-completing the installation. Simply remove the tool from the vise to reveal your freshly installed hose end. For more information, contact Powerhouse at 800-872-7223, www.powerhouseproducts.com.
