The End?

Shades of “The Grapes of Wrath”! It was not uncommon for farmers to convert an old touring car by removing the back half and substituting a homemade wooden flatbed to haul produce and grain to local markets.

Found in an animal pen while on a swamp tour in southern Louisiana, this mid-’20s Hupmobile had been there long enough for a tree to grow where the bed had been. Even the wooden steering has gone by the wayside.
