What other color but Freightliner...

What other color but Freightliner Yellow would do for a professional truck driver? The Dark Grape flames and a hot pink overlay, however, really spice things up.

The 454 Chevy engine built by pickup owner John Brown, with help from Mario Garza and Dean Stewart, is all dressed up with Zoops brackets and pulleys and Holley valve covers.

Louvers seem to pop up everywhere on this truck. The door handles were shaved too.

A 70 Chevelle front clip gives the 55 Ford the right stance. A Ford 9-inch rearend is under the bed.

Not much of this truck was left untouched. Even the taillights are unusual. Those are boat lights frenched into the roll pan. Raphael Felix of Dinuba, California, built the custom bedcover.

A clean and simple interior can make all the difference in the way a truck looks. It sure makes cruising more comfortable.

Spoke wheels fell out of popularity...

Spoke wheels fell out of popularity when billet wheels took off. Maybe theres going to be a backlash and well start seeing a lot of spoke wheels again. They sure look good on this truck.
What kind of a pickup truck do you think a professional over-the-road truck driver would own? A darn nice one! John and Susan Brown just couldnt own a cookie-cutter truck, so they purchased this 55 Ford almost complete in 1995 and proceeded to customize it to suit them.
They added the flames and pinstriping, the interior, the bedcover, new rims, and more. The Centari paint is a custom blend of Freightliner Yellow (of course!) with Dark Grape flames (and a hot pink overlay) from Renes Custom Graphics in Lindsay, California. Another eye- catcher? Tru-Spoke wheels, something you dont see very often anymore on custom trucks, and this pickup sure looks good with them. Maybe a new/old trend will take over again.
