This late-'40s Chevy appears to have been used as a "service truck," with homemade racks of galvanized pipe to presumably hold ladders or pipe over the cab and bed.

Almost all of the window glass is gone as well as the hood's side panels. The truck survived its service career long enough to sport add-on turn signals and taillights. The door handles are missing, as are the door bottoms, Midwest rust-out is evident. The rear bumper appears to be a heavy-duty, non-stock item.

It was a nice sunny day for a walk in the woods to find and photograph a "rusty truck" in SW Michigan.
