Behind the extended roadster pickup cab is a polished Halibrand quick-change with 3.87:1 gears, wearing billet Aldan American Eagle shocks and SoCal drum brakes. Hemi Heads provided the entire drivetrain, including the polished stainless steel exhaust.
The bright-red leather interior and the Haartzcloth fabric bedcover are the work of Sean Krist of Krist Kustoms in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The matching Haartzcloth top was later crafted by Greg Houseman at Fine Line Interiors in Sacramento, California, over Ball's top bows and top irons, which match the longer doors. A banjo-style steering wheel is mounted on a GM tilt column. One unique detail found in the interior is the hidden shifter by Windsor Fabrications in Battle Creek, Michigan.
The PPG Midnight-Blue roadster pickup has already caught the eye of judges, winnning First Place class awards at the Oakland Rod & Custom, Portland Rod & Custom, and Sacramento Autorama shows. However, the only eye that it needs to please these days is that of its owner Diane, and she plans to keep a close one on it for some time to come.
