Dewayne Lashley from Moss Point, Mississippi, shared the story of his C10.
“I purchased this ’85 Chevy Silverado from my former supervisor for $1,500 five years ago. He bought it new. I’d watched it for years and rode in it during lunch. It was always white with the standard trim package that included Chevy cab molding, a chrome tailgate Chevy band, color-matched Chevy grille, side marker lights, and power windows and locks.
“I replaced the OE headlights with Euro headlights plus turn signals from Brothers Trucks along with Euro side marker lights. The chrome-trimmed taillights were swapped for replacement taillights without chrome trim. I also replaced the front bumper with a 1982 bumper so the signal lights would be in the bumper instead of grille. The 15-inch Rally wheels were replaced with custom ION wheels and 255/60R17 Hankook tires.
“I had the cab band and tailgate band removed along with all badges. I also added an LMC billet interior door panel. The paint had oxidized in several places, so I had it repainted white from a color chart of Oldsmobile Alero 2000 DuPont. It has the original 350 engine and TH350 trans, but I had the exhaust system replaced from headers to exhaust tips with Flowmaster parts. It has the original interior. Future goals are to replace the bench seat with buckets, like earlier model C10s, and a billet grille.” CCT
