As 2010 was just firing up, Russ was ready to get busy on the truck bed and interior. He covered the bed floor in oak. He didn't think that holding the tailgate with chains was in line with the overall theme of the truck. The solution was to mount up GM seatbelt latches to do the job.

The interior was the next part of the project tackled. Country Upholstery in Phoenix covered the late-model buckets in tan leather. Russ installed the aftermarket instruments and a billet steering wheel, using an ididit steering wheel adapter to fit the Billet Specialties wheel to the GM tilt column.

In February, the transformation has been almost entirely accomplished except for the wheels and tires. The wheels had to keep up with the eye-catching paint and these 17x8 and 17x10 Sphere models from Intro suit the whole exterior. The tires are from Falken and are 225/50R17s in the front with 275/50R17s mounted at the rear.

By the second week of March, the local radio stations were announcing the arrival of the Goodguys Spring Nationals, which would be the first big event for Russ' freshly finished GMC. The truck he'd previously described in two words-plain Jane-he now described in three: ready to go.
