In 2006 I asked my friends Dan Votaw and John Portscheler in Lodi if they would install the floorboards and repaint the interior to the correct colors, maybe fix a few dents and blend the paint. Well, they had other ideas, one thing led to another and I found myself placing many more orders to Classic Parts. It took around a year for them to restore Lightning to a level I never imagined. Without John Portscheler this truck would not look anything like it does today. He deserves 99 percent of the credit. We tried to keep it as correct as possible. I again went with the Seacrest Green but decided to two-tone it with an original shade of beige. It was finished off with tomato-red pinstriping and of course the vintage licence plates and frames. After doing some research as to what type of wood was original I chose hard yellow pine for the bed. Frank Mauro at Stockton Wheel powdercoated the wheels and mounted the tires.

Lightning has been through many changes in my 33 years of ownership, but she looks and drives as good if not better than new."
