Homebuilt to The Hilt If you've been reading every truck magazine you can find-since '86-it's safe to say that you're a truck aficionado. When you can show up in your '62 Unibody Ford, then you can say you practice what you preach. That's exactly what Arnold Ahlstedt of Hutchinson, Kansas, can say. Arnold built his Ford entirely at home in the garage. Along the way he installed new heads on the old 302 motor, along with an Edelbrock Performer cam with a double-roller timing chain. He also swapped the chassis for a '65 Ford F-100 with twin I-beams, late-model disc brakes, and 2-inch drop spindles. As for the exterior, Arnold added a few touches of his own. For starters, he removed the tailgate chains, shaved the hood, and built his own tonneau cover. Adding some flare to the Ford is a turquoise-and-white paintjob with American Racing wheels. Moving inside, the interior was redone in black-and-white tweed. And that, folks, is how a homebuilt hauler is done.

Day In And Day Out We can honestly say we envy Ted Matouseb, of Yorb, Nebraska. Why? This '50 3100 Series Chevy truck is his daily driver. Now one might think that if this old truck is your daily driver you'd add some modern-day running gear to the mix. However, Ted has left this sucker stock to the bone. The old Chevy still rolls the 216ci inline-six with a three-speed tranny. Ted didn't even bother to update the electrical system. Instead, the Chevy still trucks down the road rockin' the original six-volt system. And although the truck is Ted's daily driver, he does manage to hit a few shows here and there. Not a bad gig if you ask us.
