Like a kid on Christmas morning, Teresa Conley from Lino Lakes, Minnesota, couldn't wait to show off her new toy, so here goes:"I just wanted to share my new 'toy' with all of Custom Classic Trucks' readers. My truck is a '57 Cameo Carrier pickup. My husband spent two years on a frameoff restoration. It has a '69 Z/28 front subframe and a '78 Cutlass rearend. The truck also has a brand-new Chevy 300hp 350 crate motor with a Turbo350 Automatic. It was originally a Texas truck that was brought to Minnesota in 1985 and driven for a few years before it was stuffed away in a barn. A friend of ours purchased it two years ago, and we in turn bought it from him. Not liking the choice of stock colors much, I opted for Dark Copper Metallic and Bronze accents. Rick Mitzuk and crew were excited to do the bodywork and paint on such a rare truck that they spent three months doing a fabulous job. The fiberglass box sides are as smooth as the sheetmetal. The interior is tan ultra leather stitched by Brian and the guys at Premier Upholstery. The wood bed is Lyptus stained rosewood with eight coats of marine varnish. Finishing the wood was my contribution to putting the truck together. We added a Vintage Air unit and a retro-fit AM/FM stereo. I wanted a cleaner look, so I opted to go with a one-piece tinted window in the doors. Finally, a reproduction '53 Cadillac flamed air cleaner tops off the engine compartment. It's only been on the road a little over a month, and I love every day of it."
