One of the features that really turned Gary onto the truck was its exterior presence. For some reason, the entire body had been shaved clean. Just like a business liquidation sale, everything had to go, and that included emblems, handles, door locks, marker lights, bed chains, taillights, and more. When all was said and done, the truck was left with a smooth appearance. Even the front and rear bumpers were narrowed 6 inches, and custom turn signals and taillights were molded in as well. Lastly, the truck was painted Ultra Red, and when we say the truck, we mean it. Everything from the body, grille, bumpers, wipers, and more was painted red. Adding to the red persona are red metalflake flames outlined in blue streaming down the front fenders and doors.
When Gary got the truck, it was just the way he wanted, except for one thing. His wife Gayle wanted to add her own flavor to the mix. Taking from the flamed theme, they decided to have an entire one-off flame-based interior put in the truck. Thanks to Bill's Upholstery in Brea, California, the new interior, with its dual pod and wraparound dash, gives off the feel of a Corvette cockpit. Cap that off with the custom door panels, center console, and Lexus bucket seats stitched in flame-patterned American Beauty red and Saffron vinyl, and the Stephans have definitely made their mark on the Chevy.
