The Latest Craze?
The latest trend in Custom Classic Trucks happens to be shifting toward running and driving cabs...or almost finished projects sitting in the driveway. We're going to go with the latter on that prediction. Odis Norris has been pluggin' away for five years on his '55 Chevy. and things are starting to round the corner of the homestretch. So far, the chassis is done and quite impressive. Instead of the stock straight axles, Odis installed a C-4 Corvette suspension in the front and rear with Master Power disc brakes. Then he dropped in a 454 big-block Chevy with an Edelbrock air gap manifold and a 600-cfm carburetor. Although most of the sheetmetal isn't on the truck, Odis has started to modify what is there. The firewall, inner fenders, and floor were replaced with new Bitchin' Products gear. On the inside, the dash was modified, and Classic Instrument gauges were installed. So far, so good. It'll be interesting to see what the final outcome looks like. Keep at it, Odis!
