Thanks to the superior fabrication skills of his father, the moral support and wisdom of his mother, and the tenacity of being a vintage custom truck-loving teen, Ernest Liptrap of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, built a banana-hued Blue Oval truck that grabs attention. A Demon four-barrel carb feeds fuel and air to the 390FE big-block Ford mill that powers the beast. For the foundation, a '66 Ford LTD IFS and a Ford 9-inch enable the hauler to track straight and true. Ernest's dad filled the front valance, fabricated the bedsides and rear roll pan, and smoothed the tailgate. Can you believe he began the project when he was 17? Well done, father, mother, and son!
Editor's Note: Getting your truck into Readers' Trucks is a snap, of the camera, that is. All it takes are a few good-quality photos of your ride that are in focus and well lit. High-resolution digital photos can be sent in via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Traditional prints are also acceptable and should be sent to: CCT, c/o Readers' Trucks, 1733 Alton Parkway, Irvine, CA 92606. It is important that you include a detailed description of the modifications you have made to your truck, including any interesting stories behind it. Due to the volume of mail we receive, we regret that we cannot return photographs.
