1951 Mercury - Better Than A Dirt Bike

1951 Merc Front Driver View
House of Kolor Tangelo Pearl-hued flames lavish the M-1's exterior, while the flame theme carries over to the inside. The headlights are Ford Mercury factory items.
1951 Merc Front Wheel View
Michelin radials, sized P225/50R17, cover the 17x7-inch-wide front Budnik rolling stock. The front wheels have a 5-inch backspace.
1951 Merc Rear Wheel View
With a 4-inch backspace, the rear Budnik Famosa wheels are 15x14 inches. They're wrapped in Hoosier Pro Street meats, sized 18.50x29x15 inches.
1951 Merc Interior Momo Wheel View
With a Corvette center bezel, the Momo steering wheel fits the race theme of the Merc's cockpit. Baxter's Custom Upholstery covered the floor in custom-cut beige wool carpet.
1951 Merc Engine View
Stroked to 383ci, the Chevy small-block makes an estimated 650 hp. A MSD billet distributor and ignition supplies a reliable spark to the Pro Street powerplant. Edelbrock chrome valve covers help dress the well-polished engine.
1951 Merc Tailgate View
Ol' Girl's best 1/4-mile time is 11.5 seconds at 120 mph. Unless you're piloting something equally fast, you won't be getting much of a view of the custom brake lights/taillights.
1951 Merc Interior Seats View
Trimmed in beige tweed and Soft Touch Ultraleather, Baxter's first custom-fabricated the comfy bucket seats.
1951 Merc Interior Rear Speakers View
For the Pioneer CD/stereo system, the owner installed two 10-inch Pioneer subwoofers behind the seats, in addition to the Pioneer 6-inch speakers elsewhere in the cab.
1951 Merc Interior Driver Door View
For enveloping the interior in figurative flames, custom-molded door panels were installed before being trimmed in tweed and Ultra Leather.
1951 Merc Tonneau
The Mercury emblem was molded into the custom-made fiberglass tonneau, compliments of the owner.
1951 Merc Driver Door
Tangelo flames adorn the Canadian hot-rod hauler known as Ol' Girl or Ol' Reck.
