Chevrolet Cameos were produced from 1955 through mid-1958. Always considered rare, well-styled pickups, the '58s were the least produced of the marque. Only 1,405 '58 Cameos rolled off the assembly line before being replaced by the Fleetside model.

With speed shop components such as Edelbrock, Crower Cams, World Manufacturing, and Holley, Rick Boyd crafted a 355ci Chevy drag racing motor that dynos out at an impressive 425 hp.

Bucket seats from a '78 Mercury Marquis were trimmed in charcoal and gray tweed fabric.

The only two elements that aren't stock in this '58 dash are the aftermarket AM/FM radio and the Hot Rod Air HVAC system.

Per the caretakers' wishes, friend and upholsterer Dennis Goetz trimmed the Cameo's door panels and entire interior in gray and charcoal tweed fabric. The floor is charcoal wool carpet.

Owner Rick Spillman used polished stainless steel panels, separated by Torch Red-painted stringers, for the bed floor.

Despite the newly applied bright-red paintjob upon its 2002 purchase, the Spillmans hired Bernie, owner of Bernie's Custom Paint, to strip the truck to bare fiberglass and bare metal, before re-spraying it in two '03 Corvette hues, Torch Red and White.

If you owned a Cameo pickup in the '50s, you arguably had the most stylish pickup that American automobile manufacturers produced in that era. It's no wonder that automotive collectors clamor for Cameos today.
