It's hard to say who the first people were to coin Run To The Sun as the name of their event, but with 2009 marking the 21st annual occurrence for the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, get-together the Pee Dee Street Rodders have to be somewhere near the top of the list. The event held to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Children's Miracle Network at McLeod Children's Hospital, the Sara Goodwin Memorial Foundation, and the Harry County Sheriff's Department Benevolent Fund raised almost $90,000. For 2009, the event pulled in over 2,000 vehicles, and over 300 cars and trucks participated in the Cruise The Boulevard portion of the show.
