Without a doubt, one of the best trucks-only shows on the West Coast is the Brothers Classic Chevy & GMC Truck Show & Shine held in Corona, California. For 2008 the Brothers show celebrated its 10th year with a turnout that defied record-high gasoline prices, and pulled in entrants from all over the Western states who had to contend with everything from freak summer rainstorms to forest fires.
Since this issue of Custom Classic Trucks is dedicated to the '47- 55 1st Series Advance Design line of General Motors trucks, one will notice there is a heavy concentration of A-Ds in the coverage on these pages. As always, the NAPCO Owners Group turned out in force with a squadron of incredibly detailed NAPCOs, including Bruce Michaels' under-construction '51 Chevy five-window half-ton with a NAPCO Mountain Goat A-D conversion under it. On the lowered, as in "slammed," side of the scale, every style of A-D Chevy and GMC was present-from "street rods" and "hot rods," and "farm trucks," to "bombs" laid out on hydraulics.
