For people who love old trucks, taking a trip to an automotive museum is high on the list of fun things to do; throw in a cruise and you have a sure number one on that list.

For Southern Californians, the 2007 summer cruising scene begins April 4 at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, California, at the Fairplex. For the '06 season's finale held December 5, we sent CCT's associate editor Dakota Wentz along with our friend "blur-man" to get the scoop ("blur-man" is the blurry guy speeding around in the photographs). We also called the NHRA's executive director, Tony Thacker, to get some information regarding the event.

"Our Twilight Cruise is run by the Cal-Rods Car Club on behalf of the museum, and they do a super job. All 1970 and earlier rods, customs, classics, and musclecars are invited to join us in the museum parking lot at the Fairplex from 4-8 p.m. Admission to the Twilight Cruise is free, and all attendees may visit the NHRA museum at no charge. We feature celebrity picks, great raffle prizes, and a huge 50/50 drawing. Food and beverages are available, and all proceeds generated by the 50/50 drawing go to support the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California."
