Pro builder Roy Brizio built... Pro builder Roy Brizio built a beautiful Brookville-bodied '32 Ford roadster pickup for George Poteet of Memphis, TN. Mr. Poteet has many sweet custom classic cars and trucks, as you may be aware. This particular entry earned a Class Award in the Altered Rod Pickup-Pre-1935 category. One of the many benefits of... One of the many benefits of attending shows is learning how other builders and owners are crafting their custom vehicles. The top on Mr. Poteet's roadster pickup sure looks sweet. We wonder how it would look on the '34 Ford roadster pickup in the pages of CCT. Hmmm? Sid Chaver, of Bop Top fame, created the luscious lid. Young pro builder Robbie Azevedo,... Young pro builder Robbie Azevedo, owner of Pacific Coast Customs in American Canyon, CA, created a sensation when he took a junkyard '48 Suburban and transformed it into the '48 Impression roadster pickup. We first featured his custom hauler in the July '05 CCT ("Sheetmetal Sculpture"). Now that the Impression is all done, we may have more to say (hint, hint). The interior in Robbie's creation... The interior in Robbie's creation is every bit as inspired as the exterior. By the way, the '48 won Outstanding Truck, $200 and a trophy. Congrats, Pacific Coast Customs! Throughout the three-day show... Throughout the three-day show there was an abundance of hot rod haulers parked outside, many of which were for sale. Here's a sweet Ford F-100 that looks most drive-worthy and prize-worthy. Unfortunately, most of the... Unfortunately, most of the trucks parked outside didn't have owner identification placards. Some had cell phone numbers, as they were for sale. A bright yellow El Camino caught our eye, since the paint and bodywork were so well done. The El Camino's engine and... The El Camino's engine and bay were every bit as tidy as the topside. Affectionately named Beulah... Affectionately named Beulah by the '47 GMC COE's current caretaker and creator, this hauler delivers 12.5 miles and smiles per gallon--not bad for a truck as big as a SoCal beach bungalow. In the Rat Rods classification,... In the Rat Rods classification, co-owners Peter Guida and Jim Aust earned a Class Award for their lime cool '31 Ford roadster pickup. Peter resides in Chevy Chase, MD, while Jim lives in Redondo Beach, CA. Another entry in the Patina... Another entry in the Patina Pavilion was Todd Lancaster's '36 Ford hauler. Todd and his low-slung creation live in Lancaster, CA. Built on the automotive enthusiast... Built on the automotive enthusiast cable TV show Overhaulin', Chip Foose's F-100 was also on display. As you can imagine, the ink-black Ford Effie drew crowds the entire show. For his '53 Chevy 1/2-ton,... For his '53 Chevy 1/2-ton, Dennis Sever of Perris, CA, won the Outstanding Engine- Truck prize. Black Widow was a Monogram... Black Widow was a Monogram 1/24-scale model of a '28 Ford Model A roadster pickup, popular with modelers in the '60s. Zoomies Workshop of Pleasant Hill, CA, re-created a running full-sized version and called it Black Widow II. We doubt the ragtop truck was put together with Testors modelers glue. Designed and built at Foose... Designed and built at Foose Design by Chip Foose and his talented crew, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster 2006 trophy and $5,000 prize went to Ken Reister of Littleton, CO... ...Whether from close up or... ...Whether from close up or far away, the '36 Ford roadster called Impression is breathtaking. Impression also won the '05 Ridler award. Congratulations, Mr. Reister and Foose Design!
