Trucks, Turkeys, And Four Days Of Fun At

1947 Chevy Panel.Bmp
The ultra-clean '47 Chevy panel belongs to Bob and Louann Myers from Gainesville, FL. After chopping the top, shaving off all the nonessentials, and outfitting it with a new modern powertrain, they finished the job with a beautiful Candy Apple Red paint job.
1937 Stude.Bmp
Jeff Rice's bright yellow '37 Studebaker pickup truck is a rarity, made even better thanks to its authentic side-mount spares and vintage sunvisor, as well as the big, modern chromed V-8 under the flamed hood.
1950S Truck.Bmp
We ran this shot so you could see how we did things back in the '50s. This flaming Ford has all the right stuff like spinner hubcaps and wide whites, fender skirts that hide the rear wheels, and ground-scraping road clearance. The name is Rebel Just Because. That fits it perfectly.
1947 Dodge.Bmp
One of the sweetest vintage pickup trucks we've seen in a while belongs to Bernie and Kathy Gerry from Limerick, MD. Their Dove Gray "Low-Tec" '47 Dodge has a modern V-8 under the hood with a sign that says driven 63,000 miles. Obviously, it is a big part of the family fun. Check the custom running boards, hidden trailer hitch, and widened fenders.
Z28.Bmp
This unusual intake is a Don Garlits air cleaner that simulates fuel injection but actually uses a 600-cfm Holley on the 302ci Z28 motor. Dennis Delphus combined his '48 Chevy truck with the Z28 motor to create his Z48.
1935 Red Ford.Bmp
Brent Schubert displayed his ultra-clean '35 red Ford pickup truck, all steel with lots of custom work. He used a '99 Z28 Camaro as the source for the powertrain, and he hand-fabricated most of the exterior sheetmetal.
1918 Model T.Bmp
Custom and about as classic as you can get, this '18 Model T C-Cab truck, with an oak bed and a supercharged 350 Chevy is owned by Pete O'Connor from Panama City, FL. The patriotic theme just adds to the fun.
1977 Chevy.Bmp
Ronald and Elana Denman of Jupiter, FL, knew how to get our attention. Their chopped '77 Chevy pickup truck was loaded with innovative modifications, and we would have photographed it even if they didn't have a copy of CUSTOM CLASSIC TRUCKS on the dashboard!
Vendors.Bmp
Vendors had a huge selection of everything you needed along with a few items you hadn't thought of.
